2013 National Stationery Show – Kids’ Stationery
I’ll admit it: I never gave up my inner child. Which is why I’m still drawn to kids’ toys, books, and, of course, stationery, even though I’m an “adult.” In my mind, anything that’s fun for kids is fun for us so-called grown-ups, too.
So, while I’ve titled this post “Kids’ Stationery,” the products featured here are, yes, great for actual kids, but also for those of us who are still kids at heart.
Ginko Paper’s booth was chockablock with designs that would delight everyone across the age spectrum. From glitter-riffic greeting cards to felty animal friends, to dimensional and die-cut cards, to fairy-tale-themed note and photo-holders from Japan, Ginko offers a broad collection of kid-friendly products.
This soap-bubble-blowing seagull from Pei Design is the perfect summertime card for the wee ones.
Last year, Up With Paper introduced a new line of fantastic kids’ products, including pop-up sticky notes sets and notecard portfolios. In fact, the pirate dogs notecard portfolio set (pictured at bottom) won this year’s LOUIE Award for Everyday Boxed Notes – Above $2.50. (Many of Up With Paper’s pop-up notepad designs are perfect for kids, too.)
This simple and sweet birthday card from Kate & Birdie Paper Co. is a pretty way to remember a child’s birthday.
Ella Leach’s booth had a big selection of wonderful boxed notes that are perfect for both kids and adults who love sweetness and whimsy.
Fluorescent happiness makes these designs from Hello!Lucky the perfect cards to celebrate a little—or big—one’s birthday.
Night Owl Paper Goods was another booth a kid would feel right at home in. Their wide selection of sweet, fun designs bridged from greeting cards to bookmarks to notebooks and notepads.
This festive letterpressed invite from Ilee Papergoods fits well within several party themes: trains, circuses, and/or safari animals.
I really love these color-’em-in thank you notes from 9th Letter Press. In fact, the dinosaur version will be waiting for the Widget under the Christmas tree, later this year. They’re the perfect way for little kids (pre-writers) to put their stamp on their thank you notes. And, older kids may actually be enthusiastic to send out their thank you’s, if they can color them in, first.
There were so many nifty card and notes designs for kids, this year, that this is just a tiny taste of all the fun goodies. (I wish I could share them all!) Next, another nibble: this time, Kids’ Crafts.
Please note: the image labels I’ve used are not official product names/titles. For more information on any of the products in my posts, please contact the wonderful people who’ve created them.
